Packet Pick Up

Pick up your packet on Friday before the race at the Grand Traverse Resort. Packet pick-up is held from 11 am - 7 pm. While picking up your packet, enjoy a Bell's Beer and shop at a selection of vendors for all of your trail needs at the Ice Cycle Expo presented by Michigan Bicycle Law. Pre-ordered merchandise and limited edition Iceman Cometh Challenge merchandise will also be available.

Important Packet Pick Up Notes:

Each racer must pick up her or his own packet. Bring your government issued ID. This is required in order to pick up your packet. You may not pick up another racer's packet (unless they are under the age of 18 and you are their legal guardian).

Can't make it to Packet Pick Up and Ice Cycle Expo on Friday? Your packet will be waiting for you at the start line in Kalkaska beginning at 7:00 am.

Banishment for Life

Give your race number to a friend or race under someone else’s name, and you’re both done. For life.

Seriously. Both the registered rider and the person using the number will be excluded from future Iceman events.

There’s a good reason. Racing under someone else’s name isn’t just unfair to the riders who followed the rules. It can also create a serious safety issue. Imagine breaking a collarbone (yes, it happens) and our search and rescue team thinks you’re Bob Jones, 28, from Ionia, when you’re actually Bob Smith, 42, from Kalamazoo.

And then there’s the podium problem.

In 2012, the Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Race discovered that the winner of the Birkie Classic had raced using someone else’s registration. The wrong person stood on the podium, while the legitimate first-, second- and third-place finishers were denied the recognition they had earned.

Don’t be that person.

Race under your own name. Keep your number to yourself. And whatever you do, don’t make us banish you from Iceman for life.
