Bus Schedule Expands

For 2012 we have five different bus routes planned to facilitate riders and spectators getting to where they need to go before, during, and after the races. For everybody's safety, pets are not allowed on any of the bus routes. All of the buses and shuttles will be followed by a Penske truck to carry bikes and other equipment.

Rasho Farm to Kalkaska

Last year's Rasho Farm to the Kalkaska starting venue bus route in the morning was very successful. We had over 200 riders take advantage of a stress free trip to Kalkaska last year! Park at Rasho Farm, load your bike into the Penske truck, climb on board the bus and relax. What could be easier? Buses will depart Rasho Farm every half hour from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM arriving in Kalkaska approximately 45 minutes later.

Grand Traverse Resort & Spa to Kalkaska and Timber Ridge Resort

Grand Traverse Resort & Spa will provide a shuttle bus from the Resort to Kalkaska for registered guests. The shuttle service is complimentary, just stop by the Concierge Desk to make your reservation. Buses will depart Rasho Farm every half hour from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM arriving in Kalkaska approximately 30 minutes later.

Additionally, Grand Traverse Resort & Spa will also run a shuttle from the Resort to Timber Ridge in the morning for Meijer Slush Cup riders staying at the Resort. Again, please make reservations for the shuttle with the Concierge Desk. The shuttle will depart Grand Traverse Resort at 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM for the 15 minute trip to Timber Ridge.

For trip back to Grand Traverse Resort from Timber Ridge Resort, Grand Traverse Resort  shuttles will begin picking up guests at 3:00 PM and will continue until 6:00 PM.

Kalkaska to Timber Ridge Resort

Spectators can now park in Kalkaska and leave the car behind for the day. Just catch the "upload" bus to Timber Ridge Resort! The buses to Timber Ridge will load every 15 minutes  in the alley just east of the Municipal Parking Lot from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM.

Timber Ridge Resort to Kalkaska

The original bus route from Timber Ridge to Kalkaska ferries riders back to Kalkaska in order to pick up their car after the races. The buses to Kalkaska buses run every 20 minutes from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM and depart Timber Ridge from the main parking lot in front of the Main Lodge.

Rasho Farm to/from Timber Ridge Resort

The shuttle service between the Rasho Farm remote parking area and Timber Ridge Resort will run continuously from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Shuttles will leave approximately every five minutes (except in the morning  until 10:00 AM when the interval will be about ten minutes). Rasho Farm is located 1.5 miles to/ from Timber Ridge so it's a very quick trip.

Spectator Startline Shuttle Buses

Ride the Kalkaska Trolley or one of KPTA’s buses to downtown. It is a quick 3 minute trip (but would be a 10 minute walk) and you’ll be dropped off right next to the staging corrals for the start. Pick-up the shuttles at both the High School and the Middle school and head to the start area in style!

Parking at Rasho Farm

Lewis Rasho and Holly Hawkins have graciously opened up the hay fields at their family farm for a remote parking site near Timber Ridge. Located 1.7 miles from Timber Ridge on Rasho Rd., the Rasho farm is a very quick 5 minute shuttle ride from Timber Ridge.

It is anticipated that the Grand Traverse Road Commission will issue a temporary NO PARKING ZONE for Saturday November 3rd on the south side of E. Hammond Road between Haaland Rd and Rasho Road and on the west side of Haaland Rd and Six Mile Road from Roselawn Drive to Dogwood Drive and the north and west side of Whispering Oaks and north side of Dogwood Drive.

Thus, do NOT plan on parking anywhere outside of Timber Ridge except at the Rasho Farm.

Our suggested route to the Rasho Farm is to take 4 Mile Rd South to Hammond. Turn east on Hammond and then continue on Hammond when the road makes a sweeping right turn. Then turn left as the road becomes Supply Rd. Turn south on Rasho and the Rasho Farm is in the west side of the Rd just south of Courtade Elementary School.

Busing will be running from Rasho Farm to Kalkaska in the morning and from Rasho Farm to Timber Ridge Resort from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (see Busing details above).
